Understanding Psychotherapy Services
Stephanie Hillier R.P. (Qualifying)
At its heart, therapy is about having a safe, supportive space to talk with a trained professional who will help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings while discovering new ways to cope, heal, and grow.
Talk therapy can be beneficial for most people who wish to connect with their strengths, gain clarity on the tough stuff, and build tools that support your mental wellness. In therapy, you'll do more of the talking. The therapist will listen and provide reflective questions and helpful feedback. It tends to draw connections between past and present patterns to help you shape a healthier future. Coaching is more action-oriented and present->forward focused.
In Canada, psychotherapy is a regulated health service. That means, when you work with a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), you are connecting with someone who has specialized training and follows professional regulatory standards. If you’re located outside of Ontario, Canada, please reach out through my Contact page so we can determine whether I am able to offer therapeutic services in your region.
Please also note that psychotherapy is not covered under OHIP, and although most private insurance plans cover this service, you are encouraged to review your own plan prior to your initial appointment. Your therapist is not liable for claims that are rejected.
Today is the Day.
